Our Promise To You
Because We Love Everyone And Everything On The Earth
We're a small, family owned business dedicated to honoring the planet and her people by producing in the USA with only sustainable materials. We produce clothing in small batches with limited inventory to reduce waste, employ independent women artists and creatives, and vow to be as transparent as possible in all our processes.
We strongly believe plastics and forever chemicals that coat polyesters and nylons for wrinkle and stain resistance do not belong on our bodies, and are harming us in ways unseen at the moment. Our clothing is made from 92% plant-based materials- Lenzing certified lyocell tencel and 8% spandex. Spring of 2025 we will be phasing in a plant-based spandex!
Our main line is made from Lenzing certified tencel lyocell. We call it forest fiber, and it is a tree pulp fiber grown specifically on sustainable tree farms. Our forest fiber is vastly different from traditional bamboo, viscose, or rayon because it only requires one organic and non-toxic compound in a closed loop (never dumped, always reused), called NMMO (google it!) to process it, and it is guaranteed to not be harvested from old growth trees.
We are so proud to say Purusha clothing is made from start to finish in Los Angeles, CA. We’re knit, cut, and sewn in small family owned shops, dyed in a responsible dye house dedicated to low impact dyes, and screen printed in a clean and safe print shop with water-based ink. All people are paid at least minimum wage ($18/hr) and we abide by the stringent workplace and environmental laws of California.

I absolutely love me these underwear/shorts. I wear them as both. I walk my dog around the neighborhood in them. I longboard in them. I garden in them. I honestly only ever want to buy purusha people underwear for myself. Love love love these and all the purusha products. They are comfortable, they fit nicely and I love the story behind purusha people which is why I first bought something from Purusha. Always checking for drops. More underwear bottoms like these please!

I love the fit of these. They work better than conventional underwear under a lot of types of clothing, because of where the lines are located. The also work great as shorts for yoga, etc. – slightly miraculously, they don't really roll up.

Got these not sure how I was going to wear them, but loved the whale and wanted the green top with coral print to go with it. So I wore these as underwear under a dress! They are my new high rise boy shorts for under dresses! Was wishing I could swim in them, then I read in the description you can! I’ve been into swimming in boyshorts lately for the full butt coverage. They are so soft as all the forest fiber is. Comfortable. The cut fits great and does not ride up.
