Our Promise To You
Because We Love Everyone And Everything On The Earth
We're a small, family owned business dedicated to honoring the planet and her people by producing in the USA with only sustainable materials. We produce clothing in small batches with limited inventory to reduce waste, employ independent women artists and creatives, and vow to be as transparent as possible in all our processes.
We strongly believe plastics and forever chemicals that coat polyesters and nylons for wrinkle and stain resistance do not belong on our bodies, and are harming us in ways unseen at the moment. Our clothing is made from 92% plant-based materials- Lenzing certified lyocell tencel and 8% spandex. Spring of 2025 we will be phasing in a plant-based spandex!
Our main line is made from Lenzing certified tencel lyocell. We call it forest fiber, and it is a tree pulp fiber grown specifically on sustainable tree farms. Our forest fiber is vastly different from traditional bamboo, viscose, or rayon because it only requires one organic and non-toxic compound in a closed loop (never dumped, always reused), called NMMO (google it!) to process it, and it is guaranteed to not be harvested from old growth trees.
We are so proud to say Purusha clothing is made from start to finish in Los Angeles, CA. We’re knit, cut, and sewn in small family owned shops, dyed in a responsible dye house dedicated to low impact dyes, and screen printed in a clean and safe print shop with water-based ink. All people are paid at least minimum wage ($18/hr) and we abide by the stringent workplace and environmental laws of California.
I used to hate briefs but these are the best whenever I want something a bit looser to wear!
Chilling
I recently purchased my first Purusha clothing. The yarrow jumpsuit is truly magical. I am a budding herbalist and teach children handwork and incorporating whimsical ethical clothing to model for the children is an amazing aspect of Purusha clothing. I also purchased a pair of the moon underwear and then went back and purchased two more pairs. One pair I will gift to a friend transitioning from mother to maga through menopause. I felt it would remind her of the beauty of the moon cycle and remind her to take days to herself every month even if she does not have her own cycle. Thanks for making clothing that incorporate the beauty of the Earth all around.
So comfortable and fit like a dream, my problem most of the time with underwear is the elastic is too tight around the hips and thighs and dig in a little bit. Not with these high waisted briefs from purusha. I have not bought underwear bottoms from anywhere but Hayley cause they're just that amazing.
Fits my curves just right ~ First time purchasing and I’m usually a medium most shops but found out I’m a large here at 41” hips ~ They fit but a little tight around my leg area. Super soft and just beautiful!
