Our Promise To You
Because We Love Everyone And Everything On The Earth
We're a small, family owned business dedicated to honoring the planet and her people by producing in the USA with only sustainable materials. We produce clothing in small batches with limited inventory to reduce waste, employ independent women artists and creatives, and vow to be as transparent as possible in all our processes.
We strongly believe plastics and forever chemicals that coat polyesters and nylons for wrinkle and stain resistance do not belong on our bodies, and are harming us in ways unseen at the moment. Our clothing is made from 92% plant-based materials- Lenzing certified lyocell tencel and 8% spandex. Spring of 2025 we will be phasing in a plant-based spandex!
Our main line is made from Lenzing certified tencel lyocell. We call it forest fiber, and it is a tree pulp fiber grown specifically on sustainable tree farms. Our forest fiber is vastly different from traditional bamboo, viscose, or rayon because it only requires one organic and non-toxic compound in a closed loop (never dumped, always reused), called NMMO (google it!) to process it, and it is guaranteed to not be harvested from old growth trees.
We are so proud to say Purusha clothing is made from start to finish in Los Angeles, CA. We’re knit, cut, and sewn in small family owned shops, dyed in a responsible dye house dedicated to low impact dyes, and screen printed in a clean and safe print shop with water-based ink. All people are paid at least minimum wage ($18/hr) and we abide by the stringent workplace and environmental laws of California.
These were my first bells and I was immediately obsessed, so much so I bought them in black too
I love getting out into the pnw Forrest! I feel like a fairy in my bells I'm a shortie 5'2 so I did end up hemming them a few inches! Very easy material to work with!! The softness is unmatched and I will continue to grow my purusha people wardrobe! I urge you to kiss the earth and do it too!
I have two other leggings from Purusha People that are size Medium and fit perfectly with compression. I read the other review that a fellow size Medium felt she could had sized up because these bells were a bit see-through. I noticed her measurements are smaller than mine, so I decided to size up to a Large just in case. My measurements are 27/28in waist & 40in hips. I don't think sizing up was the best decision for me, but at the same time I'm uncertain getting my normal size would had been any better. These bells are definitely see through and sizing up didn't do much except now the waist is loose on me. I do LOVE them very, very much! But, I will have to use them as lounge leggings for at home due to these being so sheer in the thigh/booty area.
If they come back in stock in my normal size, I would definitely give those a try and suck up the see-through part for a better fitting waist!
