Our Promise To You
Because We Love Everyone And Everything On The Earth
We're a small, family owned business dedicated to honoring the planet and her people by producing in the USA with only sustainable materials. We produce clothing in small batches with limited inventory to reduce waste, employ independent women artists and creatives, and vow to be as transparent as possible in all our processes.
We strongly believe plastics and forever chemicals that coat polyesters and nylons for wrinkle and stain resistance do not belong on our bodies, and are harming us in ways unseen at the moment. Our clothing is made from 92% plant-based materials- Lenzing certified lyocell tencel and 8% spandex. Spring of 2025 we will be phasing in a plant-based spandex!
Our main line is made from Lenzing certified tencel lyocell. We call it forest fiber, and it is a tree pulp fiber grown specifically on sustainable tree farms. Our forest fiber is vastly different from traditional bamboo, viscose, or rayon because it only requires one organic and non-toxic compound in a closed loop (never dumped, always reused), called NMMO (google it!) to process it, and it is guaranteed to not be harvested from old growth trees.
We are so proud to say Purusha clothing is made from start to finish in Los Angeles, CA. We’re knit, cut, and sewn in small family owned shops, dyed in a responsible dye house dedicated to low impact dyes, and screen printed in a clean and safe print shop with water-based ink. All people are paid at least minimum wage ($18/hr) and we abide by the stringent workplace and environmental laws of California.

This is my first of many Purusha People purchases. The design is lovely and the material is so soft to the skin. Very mindful company. Hayley is a gem.

Absolutely love this dress, the green is rich and gorgeous! I love the adjustable sides, I like to make it more of a tunic length. SO happy that you’re making longer pieces, crop tops look terrible on me! I love having longer tops to wear with leggings. As the description says, this dress runs small and is very fitted. I’m normally a medium and have a large bust and sized up to the large. The fit was similar to the pictures, still form fitting but flattering. If you want a looser fit I’d suggest going up 2 sizes. Love this piece, I’ll definitely wear it a lot.
