Our Promise To You
Because We Love Everyone And Everything On The Earth
We're a small, family owned business dedicated to honoring the planet and her people by producing in the USA with only sustainable materials. We produce clothing in small batches with limited inventory to reduce waste, employ independent women artists and creatives, and vow to be as transparent as possible in all our processes.
We strongly believe plastics and forever chemicals that coat polyesters and nylons for wrinkle and stain resistance do not belong on our bodies, and are harming us in ways unseen at the moment. Our clothing is made from 92% plant-based materials- Lenzing certified lyocell tencel and 8% spandex. Spring of 2025 we will be phasing in a plant-based spandex!
Our main line is made from Lenzing certified tencel lyocell. We call it forest fiber, and it is a tree pulp fiber grown specifically on sustainable tree farms. Our forest fiber is vastly different from traditional bamboo, viscose, or rayon because it only requires one organic and non-toxic compound in a closed loop (never dumped, always reused), called NMMO (google it!) to process it, and it is guaranteed to not be harvested from old growth trees.
We are so proud to say Purusha clothing is made from start to finish in Los Angeles, CA. We’re knit, cut, and sewn in small family owned shops, dyed in a responsible dye house dedicated to low impact dyes, and screen printed in a clean and safe print shop with water-based ink. All people are paid at least minimum wage ($18/hr) and we abide by the stringent workplace and environmental laws of California.
I love this skirt along with every other PP item I’ve bought over the years. Each piece feels like I’m investing in myself by buying earth-friendly quality clothing that I will love forever. I feel pretty but also strong in these clothes. They make me randomly bust out dance or yoga moves. I love working in my garden in them. They make me really happy.
I really like this skort; I only wish I got a larger size as the high waist tends to fold down on me. I also have a shorter torso so I think a larger size would have allowed me to fold the waist band for a more comfortable fit. However, it has substance and great for the summer weather.
I wore this to a music festival as soon as I got it and it was great. I like how the skirt is slightly longer in the middle and shorter on the outer leg. The bike shorts underneath are long enough to deter thigh rub and the pockets are nice and big so it's really a practical garment as well as a cute one. The material is thicker than some of my older Purusha pieces, which I like, as it helps the skirt fall nicely and holds my belly in. I didn't realize it was more navy blue than black, so it doesn't fit quite as well into my wardrobe as I expected, but I can make it work. I'm a true size Large and this fits well.
