Mother Earth has taken a beating. For millions of years she shucked off icy glaciers and comet strikes before finding her balance and spinning on without complaining. How did she do it? Every organism chipped in of course. Let's start with the way she cycles fresh water from icy mountain streams to ocean shores. Rain pours down mountains filling streams and lakes, giving us gorgeous sights like Crater Lake and Yellowstone Falls. Not bad for step one. The rivers wind down black mountains and green plains emptying into the sea, mixing with salt water and keeping salinity at a safe level for ocean life, for the seals of Monterey, CA diving for fish. Colossal thirsty clouds suck water back up again and gush down on the hills and peaks, restarting the process.
What does this have to do with mushrooms? Well, these tiny fungi have their own part in the cycle of life. They break down dead organic matter and redistribute it back into soil, feeding nearby plant life and cleaning the area of the past. They’re the unsung heroes of the dirt. Yeah, it's not as glamorous as beaches and waterfalls, but they do their part every second of the day. And maybe that's why we want to sport these little fungi. If millions of them can work in unison fixing up Mother Earth without complaining, maybe we can do the same.
- INGREDIENTS: 92% forest fiber from acacia, eucalyptus, poplar, pine, spruce, beech, birch, and maple trees grown on tree farms in Eastern Europe, 8% spandex for stretch.
- FIT: "Supportive enough that you don't need a bra." Double layered.
- WE CARE DEEPLY: Marbled caramel brown and cedar with cutie creamy chocolate colored shrooms printed with water based ink. Cut, sewn, dyed, and printed in downtown Los Angeles by small family owned shops where creators are paid more than minimum wage.
- PLEASE NOTE!: The top and bottom for this set are not exactly the same shade as they were dyed in different batches. The top is lighter and the leggings are a bit richer. They look beautiful together and their differences make them more unique to wear as a set!

Our Promise To You
Because We Love Everyone And Everything On The Earth

Each piece is ethically made in the USA, sewn in small batches by skilled workers earning fair wages. We prioritize safe, respectful working conditions and local production to ensure every garment reflects the values we stand for- quality, integrity, and care.

Our clothing is free from polyester and traditional petroleum-based synthetics. We use plant-based TENCEL™ and a small amount of Creora® bio-based spandex for stretch- derived in part from renewable resources, but not yet fully plastic free and biodegradable. It's a step toward cleaner, safer clothing for your skin and the planet.

We use plant-based fabrics like TENCEL™ lyocell, ECOVERO™ viscose, and organic cotton, blended with Creora® bio-based spandex for gentle stretch. While the spandex still contains some petroleum, it’s partially derived from renewable sources—making it a better option than traditional synthetics. The result: soft, breathable, lower-impact clothing that feels as good as it is.

Making our clothing in the USA—especially in California—means higher standards across the board. Strict environmental regulations, fair labor laws, and safe working conditions ensure that every piece is made responsibly. It also reduces the carbon footprint of overseas shipping and supports local communities. When you choose USA-made, you’re choosing quality, ethics, and a cleaner planet.
As with everything purusha people, I love this tank. Earthy color & shrooms - what could be better?!
When I want to feel grounded, I wear this top. When I want to remember my wild roots and reconnect more deeply with them, I wear this top. When I want to feel like a nymph goddess, I wear this top! The design becomes a mantra; a part of my yoga practice, every bit as meaningful as the intention I set for myself as I join my hands in anjali mudra. When I practice yoga, I pay attention to what I am inviting into my space; I roll out my mat with care, light incense or diffuse oil, and put on something comfy. Why shouldn't that last step be every bit as mindful as everything else I do to prepare for my practice? Purusha People is about adorning your temple in that which is LIVING. Forest fibres that BREATHE with you. I've tried many "activewear" garments, and let me let you: nothing wears like Purusha. Both in terms of durability and comfort. I LIVE in my Purusha People clothing and it looks as gorgeous and vibrant as the day I pulled it out of it's recycled envelope when it arrived on my doorstep. Wearing living fibres just FEELS DIFFERENT. You won't know until you try it and feel the difference for yourself. You'll never go back to "normal" activewear.
I am always wearing one of these tops. They are so soft and the mushrooms are my favorite. I also love the marble effect with the browns. In another review I said they were a bit difficult to breastfeed but after trying a few more times, I want to take that back! They are super easy to breastfeed from the bottom. I think I was just being lazy from being braless so long!
