Can mercury be permanently in retrograde? 🤔 I asked myself this question recently as I experienced a string of back to back failures and misfortunes. Our dog cracked a molar on a bone and needed to have it pulled (read, $$$$), my husband had a weird new food allergy that was disrupting our lives, I made WAY too much of a style here that people were not resonating with, and our IG account got shadowbanned for talking about the good and bad sides of recycling plastic. (We are still dealing with this, sadly.) One day I woke up and realized I had the choice to either keep asking 'why me?' or adapt, learn, and evolve with the shit that was bubbling to the surface. I wanted to create a piece that reflected that all the 'bad' we go through is not for nothing, it's a guide to lead us where we're meant to be.
Ferns symbolize humility, growth, and new beginnings. It's hard to start over and see what went wrong. Often we have to put aside our egos to recalibrate. It's not easy. Wisdom comes through struggle, and through firsthand experience. Growth and change can be painful, but what comes out on the other side is more beautiful and joyful than we can imagine. Look to the ferns as a reminder that if you're hurt, struggling, or frustrated, this is not a bad thing. This is not how it will always be. It's information that the time has come to shift, and make that leap into the great and vast unknown. You got this sister.
