The Seer Organic Indigo Bralette
WHEN SHOULD YOU WEAR IT?
I wear this for my more high impact exercise as it's pretty supportive, even more so than our bra tops. Speaking of bra tops, if you are a larger bust than a C this little bra is the ideal additional support under any of our bra tops. I wear mine for HIIT and hot yoga!
WHY THIS BRALETTE IS AWESOME
Bras made from organic cotton and indigo are beautiful things! Our organic cotton bralette is crafted from organic cotton so you don't have to worry about exercising and sweating in something synthetic and chemical-ridden. The organic cotton is certified organic and fair trade OEKO TEX (fancy speak for it's awarded for being ethical and pesticide-free). On top of this pure and all-natural goodness is... the INDIGO DYE! OMG, let me tell you about the magic of indigo! It's a plant dye with a rich cultural tradition (it goes back thousands of years), and it's so safe that when I'm through dyeing it I use what's left to fertilize our garden. It's pure magic in every way, and you can just relax and enjoy this top knowing every inch of it is organic and pure. If you're looking for the holy grail of sustainable yoga bras, this it it!
WHY THIS BRALETTE IS SLIGHTLY LESS AWESOME
It contains 8% spandex, which is a petroleum-based ingredient. Without it, your bralette wouldn't stretch and no one- you or the planet- would benefit from a product nobody wants because we refused to add a stretchy element to it. Until we can all exercise in loose woven flood pants and tunics (unlikely), or until someone invents a plant-based stretch fiber (yay science!), this is the best we've got. So much better than 100% plastic though, don't you think?
WHERE DOES IT COME FROM + WHO MADE IT?
Our organic cotton is grown in the USA! The organic cotton is knitted into fabric in Los Angeles, CA. Nadya, my best friend, and my super talented seamstress, hand sews each and every piece in her home in the desert in Southern California. I (Hayley), hand dye and hand screen print everything in my basement in Northwest Connecticut. (Very, very glamorous, I know!)
92% organic cotton 8% spandex, 100% cotton threads, organic indigo dye.
BORING (BUT IMPORTANT!) INFORMATION
This top is THICK cotton so we didn't go with the double layer on it like our eucalyptus tops. It features elastic-bound straps and a darted bust.
It's me, Hayley, modeling the clothes! I am wearing size S and I am 5’1”, 26” waist, 34” bust. It runs a little small. Size up if you're between sizes.
THE LAST BIT OF SUPER IMPORTANT INFORMATION (I KNOW, IT'S A LOT, SORRY!)
This piece ships in 4-8 weeks because we don't carry ANY inventory. Don't freak out, I PROMISE it will be worth the wait. Think of it as bespoke yoga wear, custom made for you. But, why?! Cue crying emoji. Because: 1. We can't afford to stock multiple items in 9 sizes for 40 different styles (we're handmade y'all, not a factory!), and 2. It's better for the environment to produce less and not make a bunch of stuff without knowing if anyone will ever buy it. The top harm to the environment in the fashion industry is throwaway fashion, so we're avoiding this all together by only bringing clothes into this world that people really want. By the time your clothes are done you will be amazed at your patience and probably feel pretty proud that Amazon Prime hasn't destroyed your ability to wait for something special! Go you!
Not only is this beautiful color unique, but a very feminine design. It works with everything! I love the lightweight feeling of wearing it, the softness and comfort. The indigo washes well too! I try to choose other bras or bralettes to wear but alas, I always come back to this one. I must purchase another.
I’m an unusual size and Haley is helping me make it fit. Everything I’ve bought from Purusha People so far I am totally in love with! Thank you!
